JUNIOR HIGHLIGHTS
WATCH OUT MOWGLI — IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE!
In the last week of half term, Year 4 staged their annual Yeargroup production, putting their own unique
twist on Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, The Jungle Book.
The show followed the fortunes of the ‘Man-cub’, boy of the Jungle, Mowgli, and his encounters with a
whole menagerie of wild creatures including loveable bear Baloo, crazy monkey King Louie and the terrifying tiger Shere Khan.
Going way above and beyond the bare necessities, the all singing, all dancing production, complete with
magnificent costumes and stunning staging, was performed with real energy and professionalism by the
whole of Year 4, and delighted the audience of teachers, parents and fellow students alike. A big thank
you and well done to everyone involved.
ANOTHER CLASSIC TOPIC DAY FOR Y5
At the start of the term, Year 5 travelled back in time for their Ancient Greece topic day. Dressed in their
finest togas, children took to the debating floor under the philosophical guidance of Mr. Wright, and
staged their own Greek tragedies with Mr. Leask. There were also a variety of crafty Greek activities with
Mr. Nash, Mrs King and Mrs Bilinkewycz and a mini-Olympics, complete with the classic discus throw, and
rather less authentic but hugely entertaining wheelbarrow race!
