Party in the Park gets wilder than ever with new features
Party in the Park, the unofficial kickoff to Monticello’ s Riverfest, is moving to the newly revamped West Bridge Park for another year of fun and games— including something totally new and wild, along with a visit from an iconic promotional vehicle that will have you craving a hot dog. The Monticello Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting its annual Party in the Park from 5 to 8 p. m. on Thursday, July 10 at West Bridge, located along the Mississippi River in downtown Monticello at 107 River St.
Making its Party in the Park debut is an Inflatable Costume Relay Challenge, in which participants will bounce, waddle and race their way to victory. Think along the lines of sumo suits, dinosaurs, unicorns, or even a giant taco.
Running from 6 to 7 p. m., teams will compete in a relay-style race while navigating an obstacle course in these hilarious inflatable costumes. Each heat features two teams racing head-to-head, with the winning team advancing to the next round. The last team standing is crowned the champion.

In another fun twist, the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile— a 27-footlong custom-built fiberglass hot dog on wheels— will be pulling into the party, bringing some bun-believable vibes with it. Hot-diggity-dog!
As usual, Party in the Park will offer up entertaining and affordable family fun. A $ 5 wristband can be purchased to play unlimited Party in the Park games.
Visitors to Party in the Park will also find mouthwatering treats to eat along with a beer tent offering brews to wash it all down, plus music and games provided by DJ Jindo Josh.
Family activities will include free rides on the Harold Express train, along with bouncy houses provided by The Bouncy House Guy.
In addition, Monticello’ s nonprofit organizations will be on hand to share information about the services they offer throughout the community.
