Education in the River Heights Region
IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
classmates and staff for support. Teachers
created and delivered offline activities
for those who needed them, and special
services and support staff connected with
families to provide mental health, financial,
and other resources so students could
focus on learning. Our school districts also
provided free childcare for healthcare and
emergency workers from March to June.
Childcare workers, paraprofessionals, and
maintenance and custodial staff, took care
to implement CDC safety protocols so we
could continue running essential programs,
all while putting children at ease with fun
activities.
Nothing can replace the connection that
comes with classroom learning. However,
our school communities have shown perseverance
during a difficult, unprecedented
situation. We can’t wait to see students in
our hallways again, but we are inspired by
the unique learning and innovation that has
come with Distance Learning.
2020 was a spring we will never forget and
the selflessness of our staff and support
of our community made us proud! We
are so proud of our students, staff, and
families for their innovation, flexibility, and
dedication during Distance Learning.
