Q. 1. Please explain to our readers how you came about to invent something
as useful as your special tool, The Knotty Do-It-All.
A. 1. I was frustrated with poorly constructed cord jewelry. I liked it but I did not like
they way it looked when I made it. I had so much trouble finishing the ends and trouble
making it in general. I decided to learn about knots and the one thing I found was to
make a lot of different kinds I needed six hands and four feet. I just gave it some
thought. I needed something to hold the cord so I could work with it—a sturdy surface
with holes that had pegs clips that can be moved as I need them to. As I worked with
it it didn’t take long to evolve into what it is now.
Q. 2. When did you first begin to market your invention?
A. 2. I have been selling this tool for about six years now. Within a year of having a
manufactured a professional tool we sold thousands of units!
Q. 3. What type of customers find your Knotty Do-It-All the most useful?
A. 3. I am so surprised by the range of customers I have. I have everything from
professional high-end jewelry designers, to factories overseas, men and women and
children from 9 to 99! I design for several different companies who also use this tool
and model of cord knotting in their work.
Q. 4. What are the main advantages or benefits of using your tool?
A. 4. The main advantages are speed, accuracy and ease of use. It gets the job
done. This tool is no gimmick nor is it one of those tools that hinders your progress
rather than helps it.
Q. 5. Is your Knotty Do-It-All difficult or complicated to use?
A. 5. The main reason I have gone out of my way to develop, advertise, and sell
this tool is because it is VERY EASY to learn and use. I want people to know that they
can make beautiful jewelry with leather, waxed cotton, waxed jewelry cord, waxed Irish
linen, silk…the list goes on.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, this is a great opportunity to watch Sandra show
us just how easy and versatile the Knotty Do-It-All really is!
