Bead Society of The Month Atlanta Bead Society Fun ... Talent ... Education ... Inspiration! W traditions at Atlanta Bead Society: e never cease to be amazed at the dynamic role a passionate bead society can bring to the life of local bead enthusiasts, individually, and to the beading community in general. Each bead society seems to have a different character and level of ‘beading power’, but one thing is for sure, nothing worthwhile ever happens without enthusiasm! Regardless, plenty of ‘ beading power’ seems to be needed to develop a new society, its vision, structure, and organization. Recruiting new members, providing enthusiasm and leadership, and planning an exciting series of new events to establish traditions as a vibrant bead society are just some of the on-going effort it takes! Congratulations to this Issue’s Bead Society of the Month! The Atlanta Bead Society made its debut in 1991 when a small but enthusiastic group of beaders found they were having just too much fun and started the Atlanta Bead Society! Today, 14 years later, the following officers, with their members, carry on the leadership and proud Sally Fields, President Sandy Morton, Program Coordinator Virginia Teague, Treasurer JoAnn McEwen, Event Coordinator Monica Jones, Web Coordinator Atlanta Bead Society members range from beginners, who are always welcome, to nationall y known artists such as Sue Snell, Christie Prince, Sharon Kaiser, and Stephanie Geoff. It is exactly this group dynamic which provides opportunity to meet kindred spirits with similar goals, all taking pleasure in the art of beading and in each other’s company.
