cease
to be
amazed
at the dynamic role a
passionate bead society can bring to the life of
local bead enthusiasts, individually, and to the
beading community in general. Each bead society seems to have a different character and level
of ‘beading power’, but one thing is for sure, nothing worthwhile ever happens without enthusiasm!
Regardless, plenty of ‘ beading power’ seems
to be needed to develop a new society, its vision, structure, and organization. Recruiting new
members, providing enthusiasm and leadership,
and planning an exciting series of new events to
establish traditions as a vibrant bead society are
just some of the on-going effort it takes!
Congratulations to this Issue’s Bead Society
of the Month! The Atlanta Bead Society made
its debut in 1991 when a small but enthusiastic
group of beaders found they were having just too
much fun and started the Atlanta Bead Society!
Today, 14 years later, the following officers, with
their members, carry on the leadership and proud
Sally Fields,
President
Sandy Morton,
Program Coordinator
Virginia Teague,
Treasurer
JoAnn McEwen,
Event Coordinator
Monica Jones,
Web Coordinator
Atlanta Bead Society members range from
beginners, who are always welcome, to nationall y
known artists such as Sue Snell, Christie Prince,
Sharon Kaiser, and Stephanie Geoff. It is exactly this group dynamic which provides opportunity to meet kindred spirits with similar goals, all
taking pleasure in the art of beading and in each
other’s company. Take a look at some of the examples of the beautiful creations exhibited by the
Atlanta Bead Society:
