Tips for successful beading experience:     Thread tension should be tight. Always pull away from hole of bead and not across the bead to avoid cutting thread. Do not force needle through a tight bead hole…change to a thinner needle to avoid breaking bead. To reinforce between tight beads, angle needle perpendicular to hole and pass through only one at a time. Crescent Component and Necklace Step 1: Crescent row Thread three feet of fire line. Add stop bead (star). Pick up 11/0 and 1st hole of crescent. Leave a short tail. Repeat for a total of ten sets (green line). Make a U turn into 2nd hole of crescent (curved green line) and sew through next crescent, pick up 11/0 and sew through next crescent. Repeat to end of row (blue line). Make a U-turn back into 1st hole of crescent (curved blue line). Step 2: Crescent Circle Pull beads into a tight circle with no gaps between beads. Reinforce throughout both rows of beads until component is stiff (green line). Make a few half hitch knots as you go. Cut thread and set aside. Make as many components as you need for necklace and earrings. Step 3: Assemble Strap and Crescent Components Cut 20 inches of beadalon. Crimp one half of the clasp to one end using guardian. Pick up 11/0 and 4mm pearl. Repeat for a total of nine sets. Pick up 8 mm pearl and 11/0. Repeat for a total of thirteen. Pick up a crescent component and 8mm pearl. Push pearl into crescent component. Repeat for a total of eleven crescent components (adjust the number for the desired length of necklace). Complete opposite side, crimp other half of clasp and cut beadalon. 2 Copyright@2016 Sue Charette-Hood Designs. Personal use only.
