In recent years we are seeing an
increase of youths creating their own
spin on fashion. Street fashion allows
teens to be unique and belong to a
subculture of their own.
The clothes that are featured in a
“street fashion” wardrobe are usually
urban and allow people to speak out
via the clothes they wear.
Each street style is different and reflects
the person sub-culture and potentially
their personality. Ritzy believe clothes say
a lot about you as a person, for example
throwing on joggers and an old t-shirt
resembles laziness to some but to us it
screams “CBA!”
Here Charlie Boothby (pictured left)
is wearing all black, and his clothes
are usually linked to the skate sub-
genre. Mixing clothing with belts and
hats can give a different feel to the
look you are trying to achieve. For
example wearing baggy t-shirts with
belted jeans gives a smart casual look
to passers-by.
Many celebs such as Kylie Jenner follow
the street style trend, but this is often
highlighted by wearing mainstream fashion
pieces, allowing fans to follow the style by
finding similar items in high street shops.
We believe street fashion to be an amazing
tool to express yourself and show others
what your subculture is all about.
