De Grasse-Tilly and the Early Supreme Council : 1786 – 1802
the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania , possibly joining St Louis , No . 53 chartered by Pierre le Barbier Duplessis . He first appears in the minutes of La Candeur on July 8 , 1796 .
The work begins when there is a knock at the door of the Temple and there was announced brother Jean Francois Meriends , a member of the Worshipful Lodge of Parfaite Union # 29 in the Orient of New Orleans and Jean Baptiste Aveilhé , member of the Grand Orient of Pennsylvania who asks to visit our work . This was in all probability a strategic move to re-establish the Order of the Royal Secret on the Island , given that a fair copy of the rituals and register were given to Delorme . Aveilhé returns to Charleston and is naturalized on June 19 , 1799 .
When one compares the four texts side by side and line by line , it becomes clear that of the four examples there are two main types . Type one consists of the 1763 and 1771 manuscripts , and type two are the 1786 and 1797 manuscripts .
Concerning type one , the text between the 1763 and 1771 versions are almost identical in most places . In the 1771 text , the titles of the Grand Lodge of France officers have been substituted for the officers of the Order of the
