Things have been moving right along for us at Sterling, and we hope things have been good for you as well. I’d like to take a moment to thank all of our current readers and any newcomers to our publication. Our goal, as always, is to provide as much quality education and information as we can for the benefit of everyone reading, whether they are our clients or otherwise. With that in mind, we are covering a number of exciting topics in this issue, ranging from cybercrime to employee benefit programs and just about everything in between. One of the hot button topics, especially in light of the changes in Michigan law starting this November regarding marijuana use, is what exactly the landscape is going to begin looking like for employers. How will OSHA respond to claims? How will drug policies in the workplace be affected? After all, unlike alcohol, there isn’t a fast metabolism for marijuana. It stays in the system, providing a big grey area for testing. We have an article on page 6 covering just that. It’s an interesting topic, especially since other states are trending in the same direction. As always, if you have comments or suggestions for future issues, we would love to hear them. You can send them to [email protected].
