PALADIN INSIGHTS

Staying The Course :

INSURING PALADIN

WITH ALISHA PARADISE

P aladin Career & Technical School , like other education facilities , faces its fair share of risk inherent to their day-to-day operations . Charter schools , and schools in general , are a hard risk to manage due to the many exposures they face . Keeping these schools with a good insurance carrier can be challenging , especially if claims are present on the account .

Paladin aims to take an innovative and holistic approach to meeting student needs . Students who have struggled at other schools may require different support systems than those they have been offered elsewhere . That priority has driven the school to implement many programs and individualized study plans to meet the needs of their students .
Alisha Paradise of Nesbit Agencies has been assisting with the Paladin account since she came to the company in February of 2019 . Paladin was one of the largest accounts at the agency at the time Alisha was hired . The original agency owner , then retiring , believed Alisha would be the best fit to handle the account . Shortly after , she took a tour of the school with the transportation director , Kyle , and became their main point of contact . The rest , as they say , is history .
Since taking over the account , she has worked hard to keep them with their insurance carrier . She knows firsthand the difficulty of managing the needs of carriers and clients at the same time . Even so , Alisha has done everything she could to stay the course , keeping the insurance carrier on board while staying involved with the operations at Paladin as well .
Alisha ’ s largest concern upon taking over the account was the large fleet of vehicles the school operated . More vehicles means a much larger potential for claims . There was one large accident on record which led to the insurance carrier to make certain requests of the school , including that the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident be removed from that role . Alisha went to bat and fought for both the driver and the school , eventually settling on monthly safety meetings in order to ensure renewal . This pleased the driver , the transportation director , and the insurance carrier .
The story of Paladin and Alisha is one of many in the risk management field . It shows the value of having an insurance professional who knows what needs to be done and is willing to go to bat for clients . Alisha believes in Paladin as a school and in their leadership . She believes in them so much that her youngest son enrolled and graduated there , witnessing firsthand the difference the right school can make for students .
