LORI HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE TYPE TO TAKE MATTERS INTO HER OWN HANDS , ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE IN NEED .
So in 2015 , she created ReliaCare to fill this gap in the market and provide personalized care solutions for patients so they can live as comfortably and independently as possible .
At first , Lori and her small team of 2 – 3 employees only offered one main service , which was providing personal care assistants ( PCAs ) to patients who required at-home support . She quickly noticed , however , that her patients needed further support , resulting in her applying for additional licenses shortly after opening . Since then , ReliaCare has grown to over 100 employees and now offers a variety of waivered services , including homemaking , respite care , IHS ( individualized home support ) services , and even assisted living opportunities .
The overall mission at ReliaCare is to build healthy communities , and this is accomplished in several key ways . For starters , ReliaCare only hires thoroughly screened , qualified , and experienced healthcare professionals with big hearts and positive attitudes . From there , they carefully match the needs of their clients to the skills , character , and expertise of their PCAs . It ’ s important to note that ReliaCare never takes on more clients than they can adequately care for to ensure that the quality of their services stays elevated . And finally , heavy emphasis is placed on cultivating personal and trusting relationships with their clients through open lines of communication to help improve the patients ’ quality of life while retaining as much of their independence as possible .
With so many moving parts , plus the massive success and growth that ReliaCare has experienced in the past seven years , Lori knew it would be difficult to navigate by herself the necessary insurance policies it takes to protect her business . Thankfully , she had been cultivating a relationship with Nesbit Agencies broker Cary Shaich for the past 25 years or so .
Lori first met Cary when she was working at a mortgage company in 1998 . He helped Lori secure a minor builder ’ s risk policy , and this became the first in a long line of dealings between the two professionals . They stayed connected throughout the years . Even as Lori moved from one industry to another , she was backed by Cary ’ s support and expertise . From general liability for her construction company to life insurance for her and her husband to home insurance for Lori ’ s now adult daughter , Nesbit Agencies has been Lori ’ s one-stop shop for all things insurance .
It ’ s no surprise that Nesbit Agencies and ReliaCare have withstood a long-term partnership since they share many of the same core values — namely , putting their clients above all else ; building trusting , personal relationships ; and providing top-notch quality service . Just as Lori goes out of her way for her patients , Cary has always done the same when it comes to explaining insurance policies , pointing out any gaps in Lori ’ s coverage , or advising her on the best program for her needs .
Cary has even assisted with things outside the scope of his work , from helping Lori fulfill the ACA requirements for providing insurance to employees to reviewing documentation from another insurance company claiming she had underpaid when , in fact , the rate was wrong and she had been overcharged thousands of dollars . Nesbit Agencies , and more specifically , Cary , has been there through all the ups and downs of Lori ’ s business ventures .
Undoubtedly , it ’ s the culmination of all these factors that has helped turn their decades-long professional relationship into a strong friendship that has stood the test of time . Cary even attended Lori ’ s wedding to her now-husband .
Speaking to this point , Lori commented that “ a lot of people don ’ t understand what types of relationships they can build with people ,” going on to say that she ’ s found a special soul in Cary that extends beyond the normal broker-client relationship . “ I would consider him one of the most trusted members of the ReliaCare team , and more importantly , a valued family friend , thanks to all his help behind the scenes in my businesses for the past 25 years ,” she concluded .
Ultimately , with Nesbit Agencies on her side , Lori no longer needs to worry about things like understanding how workers ’ compensation insurance works or which commercial business insurance to get , meaning she can get back to serving her patients and improving their quality of life .
