WELCOME Welcome to the autumn 2020 issue of Risk & Business Magazine. Although companies continue to adjust to all the new ways of conducting business in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many have found a temporary (and perhaps permanent) operating model that allows their businesses to continue to operate while protecting the safety of employees and customers. 5900 Rowland Rd., Minnetonka, MN 55343 Tel: 952-941-9418 Nesbit Agencies Risk & Business Magazine TM is published by Tulip Media Group. A lot of this new business model has been facilitated through the use of technology, which has allowed a significant portion of the workforce to work remotely. While this has created new challenges around maintaining data security, it has also opened the door for new opportunities for businesses to grow. We will touch on both of these developments in this issue. With so many employees working remotely, cybercriminals have become even more aggressive in trying to exploit home computers and networks that may be less secure than that found in an office setting. Companies need to be diligent in ensuring that they have a secure infrastructure in place and, even more importantly, that employees are trained on best practices. On the other hand, there have been some positive developments that have created opportunities for more business to be conducted online. Quoting platforms for both personal and commercial insurance have been created and expanded. These platforms can be tailored to specific industries to save clients and agencies time in finding the right insurance coverage. Our article on the Internet of Insurance provides more detail on how this dynamic area continues to evolve. We appreciate the opportunity to share this valuable information with you. If you’d like more information on any of the topics or businesses featured in this issue of Risk & Business Magazine, we would love to hear from you.
