MARK SAYS THE KEY TO SURVIVAL IN THE COVID-19 ERA IS FLEXIBILITY AND ACCOMMODATION .
ACTION STAFFING his company and its temporary associates was the dedication and initiative displayed as they acted just like frontline service providers .
No one quit . No one decided they didn ’ t want to come into work . Everyone got up and came into work every day , meaning Action was able to maintain its services throughout the entire crisis . They never missed a beat .
Mark recalls dispatching people remotely and handing out checks on the street . The company even developed an online application that enabled people to apply for positions directly on their phones rather than come into the office .
Mass transportation wasn ’ t operating on its usual schedule , so Action needed to change its hours to accommodate this new reality . This had a ripple effect because it meant that many of the clients Action was serving also needed to change their hours .
Ensuring that each associate was prepared with proper personal protective equipment and compliant with safety regulations was another challenge , particularly while operating remotely .

MARK SAYS THE KEY TO SURVIVAL IN THE COVID-19 ERA IS FLEXIBILITY AND ACCOMMODATION .

He was adamant to never force anyone to do anything they were uncomfortable doing , and instead focused on those who wanted to come to work . He worked to provide an environment that everyone felt safe and comfortable being in . Unfortunately , having enough people became a problem because many people did opt to collect unemployment insurance instead of taking a job .
Leading by example , Mark chose to return to the office after a brief period of working remotely . His return set the stage for all others to feel safe to do so , and shortly thereafter , Action was back to full strength .
With an expectation for increased business as the economy began to reopen , Action opened two new offices and added staff to strengthen overall operations .
While competing firms were closing doors and furloughing workers , Action found itself with additional business and today is operating above pre-pandemic revenue levels .
Mark relates that taking controlled risks and choosing to grow rather than contract made all the difference . Strong leadership , smooth operations , and excellent relationships with employees , customers , and vendors were the rock that allowed the company to seize opportunity and strengthen its brand .
In the past , Action Staffing has operated through hurricanes and through power outages . Mark was even in the staffing business post-9 / 11 . However , unlike past events , COVID-19 didn ’ t last just one day . The challenges remain , but the commitment to getting the job done has carried the organization through .
COUNTING ON JGS FOR “ ACTION ” ABLE SOLUTIONS
JGS approached Action Staffing in 2016 because they thought they could offer better solutions to the company ’ s insurance needs , which , Mark confirms , couldn ’ t have been more correct . JGS presented alternative coverage in every stream , including workers ’ compensation and medical insurance . Mark says the alternatives have been both economical and excellent in terms of coverage for his team and the organization at large . He describes JGS as an agency that really takes an interest in their clients on a very personal level .
Since working with JGS , Mark has seen a greater focus on the importance of safety . JGS has helped Action incorporate safety more heavily into the company culture through tailored guidance and on-demand advice . This has resulted in a competitive safety rating and lower premiums . JGS has also provided information and guidance on the various government programs available to Action Staffing , how they apply to the staffing industry , and what financial support is available to them should the need arise . Additionally , JGS has comprehensively covered the changes to medical insurance and the ramifications that have occurred as a result of COVID-19 .
Mark says whenever he has a challenge , JGS doesn ’ t quit until they solve the problem . He ’ s presented JGS with numerous challenges in the past and has never been disappointed . He loves having a direct line where he can pick up the phone and talk to someone right away . Mark values the profound impact JGS has had on the insurance side of his business and looks forward to a long and mutually successful relationship in the years to come . +
