DO YOUR JOB
loaner vehicle, with the agreement that the
dealership would contact my insurance carrier
and register the vehicle in order for me to pick
it up in the next two days. Sounds simple, right?
Fast forward a month, and I am still driving
the loaner car. The dealership had not sent out
the paperwork for registration and insurance
for over two weeks. Upon multitudes of
correspondence, through calls not returned
and emails and texts not answered, the package
to insure and register my car was sent out, with
every single person at the dealership pointing a
finger at the other for their lack of doing their
job. Not until I spoke to the service manager
who had provided me the loaner car did I
discover that there is a very simple recall on
the vehicle that prevents the dealership from
releasing the vehicle until the recall issue is
addressed. Everyone that I dealt with there was
aware of this issue, and it was the sole reason
the deal was delayed. Typically this would be
an issue that I would have been fine with if
someone—anyone—was just up front with me,
but they were not doing their job.

Your job, no matter what you do, is a major part
of your life and probably encompasses the most
amount of time in your day. Spend those hours
being productive, make sure your customers
are satisfied, see if your coworkers need any
assistance, deal with tough situations head on.
Sweeping important issues that may make you
uncomfortable to deal with under the rug does
not make them go away. They resurface and
become even larger issues if you don’t tackle
them right away.
Doing your job not only gets you paid, it is an
important cog in an organization’s wheel that
keeps the company moving along in a forward
motion. It also gives you a strong sense of self
satisfaction that you can only get from family,
friends, and faith. Oh, and your job! So just do
