The times they are a-changin ’. Since the pandemic , we are all learning to adapt to a new world and a new work culture . Now , more than ever , it ’ s important to stay educated and up to date . We ’ re also seeing new trends due to the political climate , new legislation , and global warming . Some of this includes inflation , a hardening insurance market , and worldwide natural disasters .

Currently making headlines is the Supreme Court ’ s overturning of Roe v . Wade and abortion policy . Consequently , employers need to reconsider what types of abortion benefit coverage are available for their employees , if any . Barry Fields , our Vice President of Employee Benefits , explores the scope of abortion benefits provided by health plans , depending on specific restrictions that are imposed at the state level . He finds that employers may need to analyze abortion benefits that are offered under a business ’ s specific group health plan to ensure full compliance with applicable restrictions .
