Personal Buyer Tips TYLER COUSINEAU ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, PERSONAL INSURANCE With boating season just around the corner, it is a great time to think about insuring your watercraft. Making sure your watercraft is insured properly not only protects you against the physical damage of your investment but also takes into consideration the liability concerns that are associated with boating. It can be very costly if someone is injured during the regular use of your watercraft. Another point to take into consideration, is to include any additional items that accompany your boat. Graphs, trolling motors, fishing equipment and other various items may or may not be automatically covered as part of your policy, so speak with your broker at Gillons * to see what options are available for you. Let us know if you fish in competitive tournaments throughout the summer as well, as this can have an affect on your policy. Gillons * Insurance has all of the solutions for properly insuring your watercraft. EVAN WOODLAND ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, PERSONAL INSURANCE One of the most important coverages to consider is the devastating peril of water damage to your home, cabin or rental locations. This coverage has changed dramatically over the past few year and more and more companies are offering Overland Water Damage. This coverage can be added or included in your property policy, depending on the company. There are many options and limits available and it is important to know your mitigation (sump pump, back water valve etc), limits and coverages when it comes to protecting your property. Risk assessment is something we take very seriously at Gillons * and we can guide you through the potential risks when it comes to Overland Water damage. JEANIE ASKHAM ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, PERSONAL INSURANCE It looks like spring is coming our way…whoohoo!!! The weather is warming up, the sun is shining and the beach awaits! But what about the cottage? On your first trip out to the cottage, you should inspect both the outside premises of the property and the inside of all buildings. Make sure the cold of winter hasn’t affected the interior or exterior of the building or created any hazards on the property. Check the roof and if you have installed a cap for the chimney, don’t forget to remove it. On the inside, check all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and don’t forget to change batteries if necessary. If this is the year you are looking to expand or build onto your existing cottage or add any other buildings, make sure you check with your broker to ensure your coverage limits are accurate and adequate. Gillons has a long standing history in insuring cottages in Northwestern Ontario and are happy to help with any questions you have. DID YOU KNOW? GILLONS HAS ITS OWN DESIGNATED PROGRAMS...
