WELCOME
We find ourselves once again getting out the winter coats, finding
the snow shovel we put away last March, and preparing for the hectic
holiday season. I’m going over the accomplishments of the past year
and count my blessings for all the opportunities and successes we’ve
enjoyed. To name just a few, I’m thankful for health, for family (five
daughters and six grandchildren), for a great group of colleagues—
including two great new additions to our Snider, Fuller and Stroh
family, Shane Jarrett and Andrew McRill—for our loyal long-term
customers, and for those of you who we’ll have the opportunity to
work with in the future.
This edition of CEO/CFO Business Today includes a feature article
about my friend and long-term client Kevin Gillespie’s company,
Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH). We’ve worked with
Kevin to design a robust benefits program as ISBH grew from fewer
than 20 employees to over 300 employees, becoming both a major
employer and a leading provider of critically important services for
those in need of mental health, drug, and alcohol services.
In addition, we hope you enjoy articles from several well-known
business writers to help with ideas to grow your business, control
costs, and implement your strategies. Our own experts here at
Snider, Fuller and Stroh—Carol Showalter on group benefits and Dan
Stroh on retirement plans—have written articles to help you more
effectively deploy your employee benefit dollars. Finally, I’ve added
an article about our new partnership that will focus on another
critical planning area that is too easily pushed onto the back burner:
succession planning.
I hope you find our magazine helpful, and I want to thank our sponsors
and advertisers for their support. I wish for you, our customers and
customers-to-be, all the best for the holidays and the rest of 2018.
Until next time,
Mark Snider, CLU, ChFC, CFP
