Success Stories Automobile Liability Recently, a client in the automotive industry had a claim filed against one of their drivers who was held fully responsible for the loss. With further investigation, including accident scene re-enactments and statements from witnesses, we determined the client was not at fault and the liability decision was reversed. As a result, their claims-free discount was not affected. Marine fire A fire on a fuel jetty was certainly more complex than a typical loss and the previous broker did not have the experience and expertise with marine insurance to advocate on the client’s behalf. A dispute arose between the client and the independent adjuster regarding replacement values and by-law costs. We were able to persuade the insurer to seek a second opinion from a specialist marine adjuster and through our advocacy, our new client’s loss was paid in full. Commitment Insurers are in the business of assessing risk, calculating premiums and paying claims. With well-established procedures and trained personnel, they take great satisfaction in settling the vast majority of claims fairly and in a timely manner. While we do not act as lawyers, our claims teams understand wordings and their intent and we will bring in experts when necessary in the best interests of our clients.
