The third step in creating healthy habits is called conscious
competence. At this point the individual understands how
to improve their health. However, taking action still requires
a concerted effort. Clear steps forward and motivation is
important to get them through the learning process.
At this stage, you should revisit your workers plan and provide
ongoing coaching. This will allow for modifications to be
made to the plan in areas where the worker is struggling.
Furthermore, the opportunity to re-assess baseline
measurements and provide feedback will help individuals
understand the impact of the changes they have made thus
far. This highlights the importance of assessing several
variables related to all aspects of health (anthropometrics,
fitness, metabolic health) as opposed to traditional routes
