MELISSA AMANDA WHINFIELD GWEN ARBEAU DARLENE PRICE
Melissa, a Commercial Line Assistant/
Junior Broker with Cain Insurance, was
born in Guyana and was raised in Antigua
and Barbuda. She has a degree in Business
Administration with an emphasis on
insurance and risk management. She
enjoys working in the insurance field with
all the services it allows her to provide
to her clients. Melissa finds particularly
rewarding “connect[ing] the dots to provided
expectational service to match the customer
needs in a fast-growing economy.” Gwen was raised in the small community
of Doaktown, NB, on the Miramichi
River. She attended the business education
program in high school and also enrolled
in a NBCC Office Administration program.
Her first job out of high school was with the
Province of NB Communication Services. Darlene spent fifteen years working as an
underwriter and small claims adjuster
with Aviva Elite Insurance Company. She
enjoyed working with her colleagues from
coast to coast to develop new products and
learn about the specialty markets. Later she
became the branch manager in Fredericton
and managed that office for Aviva Elite from
2000 to 2008. After leaving the insurance
industry for a few years to spend time
with her family, she decided to become an
Insurance Broker with Cain Insurance. She
joined our team just over 8 years ago and
enjoys working with our customers on their
personal lines needs.
Melissa maintains her ties to her island
upbringing. Once a hostess of St James
Club-Elite Island Resorts, she likes to
cook Caribbean cuisine and sing cultural
favourites.
In March 1988, Gwen joined Cain Insurance
as our first employee. Starting with Cain at
the age of 20, Gwen says she has “grown up
here.” She most enjoys helping customers
find solutions to their insurance problems.
“Insurance is always changing,” says Gwen,
“and we are faced with new challenges
every day. I am thankful for the long-term
clients that I have built relationships with
over the past 30 years that make my job so
enjoyable.”
Gwen, who obtained her CAIB designation
in November 2004, has resided in
Fredericton since 1985. She is married to
Robbie, her husband of 25 years. They have
two children, Jonathan and Nicole. In her
spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking,
and Netflix.
