Why is it Happening?

The increase in water temperature is caused primarily by human activities that emit C02 into the atmosphere, essentially trapping the heat there (6). The global atmospheric temperature has increased about 1 degree Fahrenheit over the past 100 years. The ocean temperature has increased about .18 degrees Fahrenheit and primarily affects the area most populated with marine lifeā€“to a depth of approximately 2,300 feet (4).

Animals

Both land animals and sea creatures are facing massive amounts of habitat destruction, food shortage, and lower reproduction rates. Some of these animals include sea turtles, right whales, penguins, seals, lobsters, cod, and polar bears (3).
