G-Dragon's new album, Coup D'etat, I cannot express just how excited I was to hear this album. I bought his first album and didn't like some of the songs too much. I didn't get anything special with the packaging but it was my first purchase from Korea...technically.

Anyways, I bought One of a Kind online from ITunes and got the special pictures. So when this album was coming out and there was a Red and Black version announced, I thought it would be something extra with it but there wasn't. I guess you could say it's different because even the lyric sheet is either Red or Black, but it I'll discuss more below.

Packaging Review

As I said above, there wasn't anything else included, except for a poster, but I was a little disappointed that nothing else came with the different versions. Just different pictures of GD in red for the red version and black in the black version. I got both just to see the difference in each version and I'm cool with it. I actually like the packaging on both. I've added some pictures in a sliding gallery on the next page that you can view online only.

Music Review

I had already heard "Niliria", "Coup D'etat", "Crooked" and "Michigo". And the beginning of "Shake the World". I have to say that my favorite songs are, "Black", "Who You", "Crooked" and "Michigo". All of the songs are actually great. This is the first time I've liked the majority of his songs on the album. I honestly don't dislike any of the songs, the way I did some of the ones from the One of a Kind album.

Ending

I have to say that it was really worth buying this album, I'm not dissatisfied with anything about it. GD's music prowess has clearly risen since his "Heartbreaker" days. I also loved the music videos for "Coup D'etat" and "Crooked", so I look forward to the next video he's making for "Who You". And I think I love the fact that alot of the songs were made randomly or last minute. Well, maybe not last minute. But they weren't planned as I thought they were, well in advance and so on.
