ZOE CUSHMAN WALDERS DAUGHTER OF MONTERONE
Zoe Cushman Walders( she / her) is a dancer, choreographer, and singer originally from Rochester, NY. Recently, Walders performed Kendra Portier’ s All Tomorrows: A Pantone at Dance Place in Washington, D. C. Additionally, she has performed works by Claudia Lavista, Maura Keefe, Adriane Fang, Brit Falcon / Falcon Dance, Rebecca Steinberg, Mariah Maloney, Frazee Feet Dance, bree breeden, Rose Pasquerello Beauchamp, and Hettie Barnhill. In the past year, she presented her evening-length work this far, all rivers at University of Maryland and performed Daniel Miramontes’ A Spell for Remembering at Middlebury College. Funded by the NYS Council of the Arts, she participated in a 2025 grant funded residency project through the New York State Dance Force. She was also the recipient of the 2023 Dance Force Choreographer’ s Initiative grant and presented her research at their annual summit in Ithaca, NY. Other recent choreography credits include her evening-length show Jumpsuit Suite co-directed with Zachary Frazee as part of the Rochester KeyBank Fringe Festival, a returning artist at the 2023 Wake Forest Dance Festival, resetting her 2021 work En Route as a guest choreographer at her alma mater SUNY Potsdam, presenting Everything is Just a Little Bit Wrong at Gibney Dance Center, and her evening-length show Wild Gestures in the 2021 Rochester KeyBank Fringe Festival. In addition to her movement and choreographic projects, Walders works as an arts administrator. She received her BA from SUNY Potsdam and her MFA in Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park.
