THE PARENTS ASSOCIATION Our vision is to create a wonderful experience for parents. Chairperson of PACE Lindiwe Ndlela [email protected] “The Marist values of Presence, Simplicity, Family Spirit, Love of Work and Mary’s way give a quality of authenticity and kindness to our relationships” The Primary and High School Parents’ Associations fall under PACE, a sub-committee of the Sacred Heart College Board tasked with internal marketing and communication. We strive to bring parents, students, teachers, and staff together to help build a better and more vibrant school community. We provide volunteer support to the College, and serve as a liaison between the school and parents. Who we are There is something that will suit your available time, skill or resources. The options for involvement are many and varied. We also outline some of the channels of communication open to parents. Take advantage of these and join the network! • improve communication School events like inter house athletics, the biannual fete, Mindworks and the College Masses have proved that our parents love an opportunity to hang out at school with friends and family and see what the learners are up to. We would love to meet you. Contact us … now: [email protected] We are a group of parents who meet once a month in the school coffee shop, Habits, at 7.30 am to discuss areas where we can support the school. All parents are welcome to join us at the meetings. What we do • build community spirit • support teachers • mobilise support for school events • initiate projects • communicate concerns and opinions to school management – the parent voice If you are new (or even not-so-new) we will help introduce you to the workings of the school; we will meet you on the first morning of the school year at the coffee shop to show you around the school and answer questions. If we don’t know the answers to your questions we undertake to find out and get back to you!
