Four-Day Armistice Tour, Ypres Sunday 10 - Wednesday 13 November 2013 Limited Spaces Available Spend the Armistice in Ypres where the 'Great War' truly began and be part of the Remembrance Celebrations and Pageantry Rifleman Tours returns to Ypres this November with a four day trip to pay its respects to the fallen of the First World War and to attend the various parades and the moving 11:00am Last Post Remembrance Ceremony at the Menin Gate. Included in this tour is the 'Great War Remembered’ concert held at St Martin’s Cathedral; destroyed in the destruction of Ypres along with the famous Cloth Hall but now restored in its original image. Travel by minibus from North Bucks or Ashford, Kent making a leisurely channel crossing via Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais. Three star accommodation awaits you in Ypres at the Albion Hotel which is situated just a few hundred yards from the famous Menin Gate and the centre of the town. On Tuesday 12th we will carry out a ‘Behind the Lines’ tour taking in Essex Farm and Brandhoek where we will talk about the two men connected to these Casualty Clearing Stations; John McCrae and Noel Chavasse. We will also visit Talbot House, a short refuge from the horrors of war for so many. While at Poperinghe we will see the Death Cells and Execution Spot where many met their end unjustly, followed by a visit to Poperinghe New Military Cemetery. No tour would be complete without a visit to Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery with its new visitor centre and of course Tyne Cot Cemetery. As well as a guide, a tour manager will be with your group at all times to take care of all your requirements. This special tour is available for £425.00 per person based on two people sharing (single supplement applies).
