Phase 4
Science & Engineering Wing
In November, the Board of Directors set in
motion the preliminary steps necessary to
begin construction of the second phase of
the new Science & Engineering Wing. This
phase of the construction which will add
4,000 square feet of new construction in the
cafeteria courtyard offers two new exterior
laboratory/classrooms and is expected to
cost approximately $900,000.
Over the past several years, the school
has invested more than $750,000 on design
and infrastructure improvements that were
prerequisites to this new construction.
Phase 1 included electrical upgrades
required to support modern technology,
air conditioning in the cafeteria, a new roof
over the existing B wing, upgrades to the
fire protection system and the architectural
design work. With Phase 1 complete -all is in
place to now break ground on Phase 2.
Phase 3 of the project will completely
renovate the existing 11,850 square
feet of science classrooms in B Wing to
accommodate both lecture and laboratory
space, increasing each room by 33%.
Total cost for this effort is expected to be
$950,000.
The final piece, Phase 4 of the project
adds 13,850 square feet of
new
construction that includes five
new classrooms for Engineering,
Architecture, Robotics, a Tool
Room and CAD Lab. The
estimated cost of Phase 4
is $1,800,000.
With a new Science &
Engineering Wing, our student’s
opportunity to benefit from S.T.E.M.
(science, technology, engineering and
mathematics) learning will dramatically
improve. Science being taught in isolation

will be a thing of the past and a fully
integrated science curriculum will be the
norm.
Construction on Phase 2 is set to begin
summer 2014. The timing of Phase 3 and 4
will be planned as funds become available.
