Where Words Fail, Music Speaks
Gregory A. Daniels love of music can be traced to his early childhood. Based upon his family’s love for music, Gregory seemed
destined to keep the tradition alive. Though many different instruments appealed to him, his favorite was the saxophone. Dis-
courage after failing his sixth-grade music class, he put the saxophone away and vowed to never play it again. Years later, how-
ever, fate intervened. Drawing strength from God’s inspiration, he decided to try music one last time. With God’s love as his
principal guide, Gregory found the courage to play the saxophone better than ever. Through a musical journey filled with sacri-
fice, obedience, great patience and surrender to the will of God, Gregory’s musical voice continues to be enjoyed by audiences
far and wide.
Throughout his musical career, Gregory has shared the gift of his music with varied audiences around the world. Across the
United States and in distant countries as well as the Grand Cayman Islands; his musical performances continue to be eagerly
anticipated as well as widely celebrated. His performances at churches, retirement facilities, prisons, school, and community
events continue to touch the hearts of audiences of all ages and backgrounds. His powerful musical legacy endures/delighting
returning audiences and continually attracting newer ones.
Passing his legacy down, Gregory’s son also plays the saxophone. Initially beginning as a teacher and pupil, the father and son
duo evolved into musical partners. Their incredible story began two years ago, when Gregory Daniels, Sr., professionally known
as "SaxMan", was preparing to perform the Christmas classic, "Silent Night". Much to his delight, his son, Gregory Daniels II ex-
pressed an interest in playing along; learning the song within a exceptional two hour time frame--surpassing most beginners.
Since then, 10 year old Gregory Daniels II, now known professionally as "lil SaxMan", has headlined his own concerts, held spo-
ken and musical engagements at Grantham Academy for Engineering's Career Day. He has wowed civic leaders like Mayor Syl-
vester Turner and Congress Woman Sheila Jackson Lee with his impressive talents.
Having traveled and performed all over Houston, Austin and Dallas for over a year, "lil SaxMan" has completed his first CD project, "G# “( sharp) "
