This issue will be out on Mother’s Day but I’ve decided, unlike last year, I will not be doing a Mother’s Day edition. Why not? You may ask. I feel that we need to celebrate our mothers every day, not just a certain day or month. Their love and support for us is not restricted to May only, it’s for as long as we live, and after. This month I’m focussing on #RedMyLips as April is coming to an end. This is a cause close to my heart as it’s something I, and I’m sure loads of other women and men, experience on an almost daily basis. It’s something that need to be highlighted and that were with the #MeToo campaign but it shouldn’t quiet down because these heinous acts don’t. I provide you with more information about the campaign and how you can get involved. We also look at one of Africa’s biggest stars, AKA’s recent collaboration with Cruz Vodka and the upcoming Back to City festival, the biggest international hip hop festival and how you can obtain tickets. I’ve decided to introduce you to a few local brands, leading up to my next edition. We meet Copperfox, a natural Gin &Tonic drink, Belle & Beau that provides curated gift boxes for special occasions, Heart Tree that specializes in organic skin care products, Juice Beauty that’s an organic skincare and makeup brand that’s finally available locally and my favorite hair care brand, My Natural Hair. Don’t forget to buy your wrist band and slippers for Slipper Day in May to get involved with the Reach for the Dream foundation and the wonderful work they do. Until next time, stay awesome.
