Cancer is one of the most dreaded words around, even more feared than death. It’s something that no one would like to think, let alone talk about. Why did I decide to broach this subject today? Well this issue will be live during Breast cancer awareness month plus my sister is a breast cancer survivor who just discovered another lump and when she told me, I didn't know what to say. What do you say when everything feels like the wrong thing? My father and grandfather died of cancer, so the gene is there, I guess it’s safe to say that my fear has merit, that the heart stopping moments I have when I feel a lump or see a weird mole is justified. Organizations like Cancervive and Pink Drive aims to create awareness around this disease, start a conversation and provide you with advice by those who went through this ordeal themselves. Check out their websites to find out how to get involved. On a lighter note, rAge expo is happening as well. This year will be my second year attending and I'm really amped up. It's a feast for the senses, from technology to exclusive new game previews, and don't get me started on the cosplay! It's every "geeks" dream come true and I proudly fall under that category. More details about the 3 day long event inside. We also look at beauty, a makeup look with the theme "Pink: For breast cancer awareness" as well as fashion with the amazing MiliJo. Cover art is once again by the talented Thaakirah and is a perfect marriage of my two topics this month.
