SA’s very own international singing sensation, Oshri, is back - baring it all like never before, both literally and figuratively, with his latest single ‘Under The Covers’.
The hitmaker says is not just the closest to a love song that he released to date, but stylistically has even more of a “Middle Eastern vibe, which you will hear more of on my future releases”. Oshri teamed up with only the best in the music industry, including writing the song with Mike Campbell (Christina Aguilera) and having it produced by DalePlay (producer for Jennifer Lopez’ next single), as well as producers El Anillo and Kill Dave (producers of Josh Groban’s forthcoming release). The music video can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UtKbkxvaro.
Falling in love with a friend - what to do?
The talented star explains the inspiration behind the song: “I fell in love with a couple of my lady friends during my lifetime, but this was the first time I was actually brave enough to do something about it and speak up. I tried to make a move, but unfortunately my friend was very guarded and she wouldn’t let me in.”
Despite things not working out exactly as Oshri had hoped for, he states that with the song “I’d like to encourage everyone out there who has someone they like to pull them out of the friend zone into the romantic one - just do it!”
Oshri - naked and not shy to reveal it all
Appearing naked on the cover art for the single was not an issue for Oshri. “I’m very comfortable being naked in my private life. To me, it symbolizes freedom. I write my songs with complete freedom, not worrying during the process what people will think of what I have to say. And when it feels right, without being forced, I’m happy to bring nudity into my visuals.”
But wait fans, there’s more…
Oshiri fans will be delighted to hear that he will not only release the music video for “Under The Covers” soon, but he is also in the process of completing an EP with several new songs.
“I’ll also be visiting SA again shortly to shoot another video and I’m working on a very cool South African collaboration, which I can’t wait to share the details of,” he enthuses.
