STORM RELEASES ‘CAN YOU FEEL IT’ AND ALREADY FEATURES ON INTERNATIONAL CHARTS
Local singing sensation and heartthrob to thousands of fans across the globe, Storm (19), is again attracting massive international interest with his latest single, Can You Feel It, by making it onto the musicworx charts within the first week of its release (the chart is compiled based on votes from DJs from across the world).
Can You Feel It was not only penned by Storm and Prime Circle’s very own Dale Schnettler, but the track was also remixed by the one and only Stonebridge (Madonna, Missy Elliot) and Damien Hall - testament to the star power of this youngster who was born in Johannesburg during the summer of 1999.
Storm first burst onto the South African music scene at age 16 with his debut single, Keep Calm, which shot to No1. Far from a one-hit-wonder, he repeated the success with Rhythm & You, which not only topped the local charts again, but received radioplay from across the globe, including Australia, Canada, USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and The Netherlands, receiving a stellar rating of 10 out of 10. Last year he even composed/wrote and recorded the new anthem for Rise Against Hunger, catapulting him even further into the international limelight.
“I’m incredibly excited about what Can You Feel It is already doing internationally and personally believe this might be my best single to date. As I’m from South Africa, I can’t wait to see how local music fans will react to the song, but hope with all my heart that they’ll love it as much as I do,” says Storm.
He says that the message behind the upbeat, happy song is about “the fact that you’re not alone in this world” and “that you should believe that your dreams are going to come true”.
Commenting on all his success, he states: “This feels like an unreal dream I just don’t want to wake up from.”
Storm describes himself as “humble, loving, chilled” and someone who “really comes alive on stage”. He states that his parents do not know where he got his talents from as neither of them are musically inclined, and his sister is not either. “But they tell me that from the time I could walk and speak, I would dance and memorize the words to my favorite songs as they were playing over the radio.
“I’m incredibly fortunate to have the most supportive parents. They allowed me to follow my dreams. I even left my main stream school at 15 to attend a music college, with the family backing me all the way. Now that I’ve graduated, I’m thrilled to be able to focus on my music and career full time. May I just say to everyone that have supported me so far that I have no words to express my gratitude,” he concludes.
