An upcoming rapper and aspiring independent artist known better by the name of ‘NasH’ (Sandile Bepete), plans to take the rap game in Africa by storm this year.
Born in Soweto but raised in Cape Town(CBD), Sandile Bepete’s love and passion for music started in his own home at the young of 8, when his fingers encountered his very own first keyboard brought from one of his father’s trips. His mom always played her gospel music at the highest volume possible and he was captured by the beats, which he hasn’t let go since then. Dabbling in all areas of entertainment led him to an artistically broadening vision and mission in life.
Inspired by various artists like Johnny Depp, Kanye West, James Blake, Pharrell Williams and many more, he sees his work as more than just music, but a combination of the many artistic elements joined to create a sound, which interprets how he feels at that exact moment. His music is also used to send messages, which differs with each project he works on.
NasH has released to date exactly 6 music videos, 5 Mixtapes and have hosted many shows in the city of Cape Town, from the backyard of his house, Stags, St Yves, Joburg Club, Open House and many other venues.
He hopes to inspire, motivate and break boundaries that has held many creatives back from succeeding. Besides wanting to touch souls within and abroad the borders of Africa with his art, NasH also has an interest in helping others becoming greater. In 2013, he started a campaign titled Dreams Vs Reality, where he visited different schools, motivating the future generation to follow their dreams and show them the possibility of making it a reality. He was also provided the opportunity to visit America and do the same there.
Besides being a rapper and motivational speaker, Nash also partakes in occasional modelling, uses his music to express his activist lifestyle and even featured as an extra on the international series called “Black Sails”
What to expect from Nash in the year of 2018? He is working on a L.P, which will be released soon, and hopes to release his second video for 2018 by mid-year. He also looks to collaborate with Jengo Afrika to engage in some uplifting and motivating community work once again and do his part where he is able to.
