Tell us a little bit about yourself

I’m 29 years old. I love good food, wine and cocktails; especially when enjoyed with my family and friends. I enjoying traveling whether it’s somewhere new locally or a big city in Europe, I always grab the chance to explore new and exciting places and of course enjoy some good food while I’m at it. I’m a Structural Engineer by day. I enjoy exercise and try to do a dance class, Pilates class or jog a few times a week (I often don’t manage, but I try ).Lastly, I believe I’m officially classified a “So You Think You Can Dance” addict.

Where did your love for food originate from?

I’ve always enjoyed food whether it was a Sunday roast at my gran’s house as a child or a birthday treat at one of my favorite restaurants. I love good food and I love being able sit at a table without any distractions and have a good real conversation along with some laughs with the people who matter most to me. I’m not the biggest or best cook myself (and I’m the first to admit that) so I really do enjoy going to eat out and treating myself now and again on weekends and special occasions.

What’s your absolute favorite meal and why?

I think I’d have to say a home cooked roast (beef, pork or lamb – I love them all) with roast potatoes, gravy, some vegetables and my husband’s creamed spinach; it’s really amazing! There’s something special about having a good meal at home and spending quality time with your family.

What is your favorite restaurant/place to eat?

I have so many favorite restaurants. If I’m craving a really great steak, I go to Local Grill in Parkhurst. For good pasta, I visit Café Del Sol in Olivedale and when I’m in the mood for something sweet and sugary, I visit Patachou Patisserie. One of my favorite seafood restaurants is Catch22 in Cape Town, simple food, deliciously cooked and really well priced. Another more recent seafood favourite of mine is Willoughby & Co. in Hyde Park – their sushi is great. I also love Gemelli’s in Bryanston and for a good pub meal Razzles @ 566 is my choice. Some of my other Cape Town favourites include Tokara Restaurant and On the Rocks in Bloubergstrand. Some of my KwaZulu-Natal favorites are The Chef’s Table in Umhlanga and 9th Avenue Bistro in Durban. For a special celebratory occasion I’d choose to visit Mosaic at the Orient in Pretoria. This is one of South Africa’s best fine dining restaurants! The kitchen is run by 2017 Luxury Travel Guide Chef of the year, Chantel Dartnall. The food is fantastic and it’s honestly an entire experience rather than just a meal. It’s really one of my absolute favorites.

Why did you decide to venture into blogging?

I’ve always enjoyed food and I love eating out. For me eating out is not just about the food, it’s the experience as well. Eating out tends to fall as part of my weekend entertainment and I enjoy taking photographs of my memorable meals. I have been thinking about starting a food blog for quite some time as I thought it’d be something fun I’d enjoy and a great escapism. In December last year I decided that it would be
