There’s something absolutely thrilling about live events, to me at least. People are friendlier, more at ease and dare I say, in their element? I have social anxiety issues and large crowds scares me, unless I’ve know and mentally prepared for an event at least a week in advance. I always imagine the worst possible things happening and my thoughts freak me out so much that I end up canceling, curl up in my bed and wait for the night to end.
I’m one of the above-mentioned people that are in their element at an event, I literally come alive with no inhibitions or fear once I actually arrive there. There’s a few amazing events happening in South Africa with One Source Live being at the helm, celebrating African Creativity. For Hip Hop and food lovers, there’s Back to the City and Festival of India as well as widely known Cape Town Carnival. We also have some international acts like Chance the Rapper, WWE Live and UB40 and I bring you the winners of this year’s Product of the Year Awards and pictures from the event.
In movies this month it’s the much-anticipated Black Panther that smashed box office records and established Africa’s place on the map. I had the pleasure of watching the first African Western movie made entitled Five Fingers for Marseilles and I love it. It’s a gripping tale with such amazing visuals and cinematography that will leave you wanting more. All the Money in the World, based on true events, once again show us that the love for money is definitely the root of all evil and a definite path to self-destruction.
I hope you enjoy this month’s issue as it’s overdue but life has been hectic my side.
