Rhose in Bloom #BLOGGERS | Page 6

Tamlyn is a junior content writer by day and blogger by night. From her home base in Cape Town, South Africa, She passionately runs her own travel writing and photography blog, Tamlyn Amber Wanderlust (http://tamlynamberwanderlust.com). And, despite a national diploma in Journalism - in her free time, her preferred niche remains travel writing.

She is a hopeless wanderer, equipped with an endless passion for road trips, carefully planned holiday itineraries and, above all else, an innate love for the great outdoors.

Her blog, Tamlyn Amber Wanderlust, originally started out as a university journalism assignment... But now, it is a place for her to share her travel stories, photography, insights from guest bloggers (through her Guests' Corner) and reviews on different experiences and restaurants in and around the Western Cape, South Africa.

Niche: Travel writing and photography, with a smattering of travel-orientated restaurant, accommodation and travel experiences/activity reviews.

How long you have been blogging: Technically, since June 2014 - but in terms of on a more professional and serious level, only since 2015 when I properly launched my blog.

Hobby or professional: To me, my blog, Tamlyn Amber Wanderlust is a professional hobby... I manage it part-time - but I still take it very seriously.

What sets you apart: I think the fact that my focus (that is, travels in and around the Western Cape) is very clearly defined at this stage, and also the fact that all views - excluding featured guest interviews - are my own honest ones. Even if I review a place or do a collaborative post, my feelings, travel encounters and writing style always come through strongly. I think people appreciate that kind of honesty and authenticity... Plus, these are travel insights from a local, after all!.

Thoughts on blogger/brand relationships: I love the idea of brands and bloggers working together personally - provided brands don't expect us to do it for free or without adequate compensation! If you want a review done or an event covered, you have to realize how much work goes into it for someone.
