OF GROWTH AND GIVING BACK. Their
team of doctors, nurses and support
staff have been hard at work on the front lines
continuing to provide top notch care throughout the
Coronavirus pandemic. With offices located across
the state, and expanded telehealth services, they are
able to offer specialized orthopedic care from worldrenowned
doctors without having to ever set foot in
a hospital. In the last year, University Orthopedics has
expanded into South County, with a new location in
Westerly, and they have grown and renovated their
Johnston office to include a new state-of-the-art
Physical Therapy Facility. The 90,000 sq ft Surgery
Center and medical office at Kettle Point in East
Providence continues to lead the way in cutting edge
care in orthopedics. University Orthopedics is proud
to have performed the area’s first same
day outpatient total knee replacement
surgeries at the East Bay Surgery Center.
The University Orthopedics team includes
more than 40 board-certified, fellowship trained
musculoskeletal and sports medicine physicians who
believe strongly in giving back to their community.
All specialists are faculty members of the Department
of Orthopaedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School
of Brown University who teach medical students,
orthopedic residents and fellowship sub-specialty
surgeons. Last summer, UOI held their first 5k at
Kettle Point raising $20,000 for Make-A-Wish
Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The event was
such a success, they decided to expand their outreach
to the community through a newly formed “Charitable
Giving Committee”.
