Blue Man Group
WHY: The Blue Man Group will rock your world.
The group’s Speechless tour features new and
original compositions, acts and instruments
alongside iconic Blue Man Group moments based
in joy, art, music, comedy, social commentary and
profound absurdity. Our favorite? The combination
of paint and drumming to create a rhythmic
explosion of vibrant color. WHERE: Providence
Performing Arts Center, 220 Weybosset St.,
Providence. MORE INFO: Call 421-2787 or visit

Frog Watching
WHY: Become a frog watcher and take a training course at the
zoo. Trainings cover the importance of amphibians in the
environment, how monitoring our local population helps to
protect them, factors to consider in choosing a site to monitor
and how to tell frog species apart by their calls. Then, report
your findings to FrogWatch USA. WHERE: Roger Williams Park
Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. MORE INFO: Call 785-3510
or visit rwpzoo.org.
Cooking with Beer
WHY: Newport Vineyards’ Scratch Series opens the doors to
its kitchens for an up-close instruction on its 100 percent
from-scratch culinary program. An intimate group of guests
will join executive chef Andy Teixeira and his culinary team
inside the kitchen to learn the step-by-step process of cooking
with beer. Guests are welcomed with a glass of wine before
heading into the kitchens for the demonstrations, followed by
light fare of their own making paired with a second glass of
wine. WHERE: Newport Vineyards, East Main Road., Middle-
town. MORE INFO: Call 848-5161 or visit newportvineyards.com.
