Imagination and knowledge must both exist for human society to function. Neither makes a bigger contribution. Without imagination, the world would not move forwards. Without knowledge, the world cannot stop moving backwards. As Carl Sagan expresses, “Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.” On the other hand Marcus Garvey states, “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” Equally important, imagination and knowledge defines the world.
