2. Use the team to teach leadership through deep relationships that tap into both feminine and masculine strengths. What are the strengths and areas to work on in your team members (whatever their age)? Give them the opportunity to fail as well as succeed, both are important for growth. Connect as much as humanly possible by reducing emails, making more phone calls, and scheduling personal time to check in. Approach giving constructive

feedback from an encouraging, supportive place, to help motivate the person within. Give support, yet keep them accountable.

3. Be a mentor. Mentors have been a vital part of my professional and personal growth – maybe for you too? But with the pace of business these days, I believe mentorship often takes a back seat. So it may take some ingenuity to find the right space to become a mentor, but it’s worth it! A mentorship is a contract even though no money is exchanged. Each party needs to agree on what each gets out of the mentorship; and it’s defined, not indefinite. Remember to not only share your wisdom and expertise, but also don’t be afraid to share your failures along with your successes, in the context of learning from them.
