When we speak about falling into balance it is a little more complicated than just “falling”.

We must plan to create balance in the coming months because the season is a pre-cursor to the dark months. My history is that of Seasonal Affective Disorder, which means when the seasons change and the darkness comes I become depressed. If you begin to realize this is happening with you it is wise to seek both medical help and find solutions that work best for you.

Beginning October my medications are adjusted to higher doses or additional ones just before the darkness then again back to lower doses when the light returns. If you don’t like the idea of medications, there are other supporting methods that may help you overcome this dark feeling.

You can purchase a special light that simulates the effects of the sun. This is a Full-Spectrum Light and you can get it on Amazon. While using this light you can set it up behind the crease behind your

knees for better effect and penetration because the skin is the thinnest there. Keep it there for about half an hour and the balance of time keep it next to you for reading, working on the computer, and even on your dinner table.

The purpose of using this light is to keep our Serotonin and Vitamin D levels in normal ranges. We need regular exposure to full or natural spectrum light to maintain biochemical balance and optimal health. Sunlight is considered full spectrum, so this artificial light replaces sunlight in the darkest days of the year.

Full spectrum light's usefulness ranges from providing lighting for artists, writers, readers and photographers to providing healing properties for physical and mental health-related issues.

This type of light therapy is used for enhanced mood, increased energy, better concentration, mood disorders like seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and winter blues, regulating circadian rhythm, sleep disorders, jet lag, shift work, and general light deprivation due to lifestyle.

A 2005 study showed evidence of light therapy's effectiveness for treatment of seasonal affective disorder and depression and found "a significant reduction in depression symptom severity. And in fact, it also found that the effects were "equivalent to those in most antidepressant pharmacotherapy trials."

The practice of light therapy as a way to closely replicate daylight and bring its lighting capabilities indoors has been undeniably beneficial. light therapy as a way to closely replicate daylight and bring its lighting capabilities indoors has been undeniably beneficial.

The health benefits of the full-spectrum light are powerful and can be used to balance your mood when the sun isn’t at its fullest strength. I have a lamp by my computer and have many “Verilux” light bulbs in most of my regular light sockets.

You can also try Negative air ionization, which involves releasing charged particles into the sleep environment using an air ionizer (negative ion generator) which changes the molecules in the air.

Physical exercise is also crucial in balancing your mood.

Remember to ask your angels and guides to help you get through any challenging times. Especially reach out to Archangel Raphael, the healing angel.

My podcast, The Celestial Spoon, guides you to people specializing in helping others achieve all their goals.

Bing search: SAD is said to occur due to changes in the body's internal clock, and changes in brain and body's chemicals. Feeling depressed on most days, feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, reduced energy, concentration and interest in activities are the commonly noted symptoms.

In conclusion, paying attention to your mood and other described symptoms is very important to maintain balance during the darker days of the year. If you find you experience this, please reach out to a medical professional so you can go through your days in balance.

Creating Balance is a journey through your life and when you understand your emotions and their ebbs and flows you can create a wonderful life full of happiness and success.
