own health and happiness. When our cup is empty, what is there to give?

Make space, even a small space, for self-care and put it first. I’m fortunate to have my own business, so I make my mornings my self-care. I’ve learned that when I nurture myself, I fully show up for my clients. I happily give them all of what I have to offer and they reap the benefits. It’s about being selfish in a way that helps you to give more.

* TIP 3: Recognize that you always have a choice – always. This is liberating. Sometimes we feel like we have no choice, that we have to go to a work event we don’t want to attend or stay in a toxic situation. The truth is you always have choice. It’s a matter of what consequences are you willing to accept. The consequences of not going to work may be greater than the consequences of going to work, but recognizing that you’re choosing between consequences is empowering.

It’s recognizing the difference between, “I have to go to this event,” versus “What are my choices? If I go to this event, what will happen? If I don’t go to this event, what will happen? Okay, what do I want? I would rather have the consequences of going than the consequences of not going.”

Just that perspective shift is empowering. It means that you are in charge of your life. It keeps you from feeling like a victim. You will shine because you feel empowered by your choices.

Over time this simple practice will create a more fulfilling life. Reflecting on your choices and their consequences will broaden your perspective and you will start making different choices—ones that serve your heart and soul.

These three tips, consistently practiced – not just during the Holiday Season, but all year long – will transform your life and bring more joy and fulfillment to every area of your life. I encourage you to practice them during the coming Holiday Season and make a commitment to start off the New Year feeling more empowered, more fulfilled, and more radiant!
