classroom. He couldn’t hold a pencil or cut with scissors. He also could sit for more than 3-4 minutes. Less than a year later, this young man is reading, writing, using scissors, doing science projects, going on road trips and shopping with his mother with no significant problems. Through teaching the parent’s behavior strategies, and meeting the student’s needs, the family has experienced great success.

~What tip or piece of advice can you share with our reader today to empower them to SHINE?

Don’t let anyone silence you. Speak up. If your message doesn’t align with others’ agendas, so be it.

Know what is going on in your kids’ classrooms and schools. Don’t trust grades, make sure they know what they should know.
