session. I use something called an outcome based approach---I start at the end and work backwards. I help the author personalize all the amazing tools I have in my toolbox to ensure we arrive at their specific place in their journey. Everyone has a story to tell; my goal is to ensure that they show up powerfully when sharing their story.

In addition, I will tell share with them as much as they want to know about the publishing process to ensure they understand what they will do and most importantly why. Regardless of industry, the adult learner needs to know what they do matters and to understand why. I help them connect the dots quickly to help them strategically understand the world of publishing to achieve their goals and beyond. The more we know, the more we can make better and more effective informed decisions. The simple answer is to be in the know!

~Describe something our readers today can look forward to discovering in the book, The Refractive Thinker: Project Management:

Join NASA Astronaut and Director of the Kennedy Space Center, Andy Allen (Foreword writer) and our contributing scholars as they discuss doctoral research regarding the effective project management strategies. Learn what’s new and what works for your business! This volume will continue to shape the conversation of future success in business leadership around the world.

~What tips you can give our reader to help them step forward in their life?

Become a doer. Many people use challenges and obstacles as reasons NOT to succeed. Master your fears and follow the advice of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt---feel the fear and do it anyway. Successful people aren’t born successful; they aren’t perfect, and they learn to work through their fears. Success is an attitude; a habit, a getting up one more time than you fell down. You don’t need to be perfect; you just need to show up day-after-day. Perseverance and persistence are key!

~Will you share a client success story?

As part of the Refractive Thinker,® family we have more than 170 doctoral scholars around the globe. Several who published with us achieved tenure at their respective universities as part of their school’s publishing requirements; several authors secured teaching positions at prestigious universities, while many more published their own individual books. Many are now keynote speakers. Magic happens when you share your gift with the world. Believe in the gifts that you have; the world needs them . . . and you!

~What piece of advice can you today to empower us to SHINE?

In this world we live in, trusting others can be a challenge. We struggle with the lack of customer service, the lack of integrity in our leaders and in companies in the marketplace. Rise above these. Do more than it is expected. Don’t settle. Follow the advice of Gandhi—“Be the change you want to see in the word.” Be the light for others. Show them kindness—even on your worst days. Be the person you would like to see in the world. Lead yourself first. You may be surprised at how you will be a blessing to others and offer them an example worthy of being followed.
