Shine Through Fun Activities!

and changed my diet so am no longer eating unhealthy food.

We always hear advice from experts that we should watch what we eat during the holidays, but do we really listen? I never did. I would eat my delicious cookies, especially my grandmother’s favorite recipe, pfeffernusse (made with molasses and pumpkin spices) for breakfast with a cup of tea. Now I will search for recipes that will incorporate my favorites but with different flour and healthier ingredients.

I learned that eating a healthy diet really does create a healthy body. Most of my life was lived in dis-ease. I had many illnesses and took many medications to ‘mask’ the symptoms. At age 63 I am now feeling the best every due to eating better. My advice is that if you struggle with a lot of dis-ease, seriously consider changing to a healthy diet. I know it is easy to say, and it took a long time for me to make the decision to stick to the change, but it is worth everything to me now. I am accomplishing so much more because I am not just sitting on the couch watching tv because I do not feel well.

There are many other things you can do to enjoy the holidays to step forward and SHINE. Entertaining and attending gatherings is another favorite of mine. Gather with your favorite friends and family several times this season.  Get nostalgic and share stories of past holidays and gatherings. Remembering our favorite times can put a smile on our faces and create magical feelings throughout the season.

Sit purposefully and journal some of your favorite holidays, not only the year end ones. Who were some of the people you loved to spend time with? Which ones are no longer with us and add your favorite memories about them? Think about how they made you feel and the things they envisioned for you to do. Who knows, you may write enough that you can generate your journal into a book.

Remember these people who are no longer with us are still watching over us and waiting for you to talk to them. When you do so, you may get answers in many ways. You may hear a favorite song of theirs or find a coin where you know there wasn’t one there before (Pennies from Heaven). Feathers are another sign they are around. You may read a newspaper article and the exact thing you were asking about will be in the article. Your loved ones want you to know they are still around guiding you to step forward and SHINE, just as they did when they were here.

I love the holidays, but sometimes even the fun constant activities can become overwhelming for me too.  I have overcome yearlong stress by using my own Nine-Step Turquoise Support System to turn my life around and feel much better.  Not only do I have more confidence now, but I’m also more successful than I’ve ever been.

Although turquoise isn’t a general color for the season, I recommend you incorporate it into something daily. Turquoise is a calming and supportive color to help you through stress. In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability.  When you feel the stress become overwhelming, put on a turquoise shirt, or jewelry. Find a centerpiece that you can put in front of you during stressful times. Allow the color to do its job and keep your mood up and enjoying the season and daily life.

However you spend your holidays, do it with fun in mind and the stress that sometimes affects you will not exist because you put the intention on enjoying the season. SHINE through the eyes of others and set an example so they can enjoy their holidays and coming year too.

Baking and eating a variety of cookies was a big part of my holiday. My 3 kids, their spouses and my grandchildren would come over and we all worked together mixing dough and rolling it out to make fun designs. We had fun decorating them with colored sprinkles and colored sugar. Everyone would go home with enough cookies to last the season.

This year is different because I moved away from them so only one family will come to create our masterpieces. I also became mindful and changed my diet so am no longer eating unhealthy food.
