What is the effect of child labor on it’s victims?
Dangerous work can have short and long term impacts on people. This can be an injury or even death. Children are helpless when it comes to death and injury while working because they are still developing physically and mentally. Dangerous chemicals or stress can hurt their growth. Some of the physical or psychological impacts of the dangerous work may not impact them immediately, but can appear later in their lives. Children can experience premature aging, malnutrition, depression and drug dependency. From bad backgrounds or getting kidnapped from their families, these children have no protection. Their employers can do whatever they need to to make the kids invisible and control them. These kids work in horrible conditions and do not have any human rights. A child that works will become a illiterate person and will have no chance to grow their life. In some cases child labour can danger a child’s pride and morals, especially when they are exposed to sexual violence. The kids will also be malnutritioned. These children are victims of physical, mental, and sexual violence.
