Eutelsat is a french
Satellite provider
that caters for a
multitude of different
broadcasting firms.
One of the biggest in
Africa is DStv.
The DStv Eutelsat
awards were held at the
Radisson Blu Hotel in
Lusaka on the 9th of
February. This event
was put together as
an awards ceremony
for a project hosted
by Eutelsat, where
children were asked
to draw up examples
of how satellites can
contribute to the
education of children in
Africa.
We were called in by
our buddy-buddies
at DStv to manage
the event. This meant
sorting out the venue
booking, gathering
models, decorations,
PA setup and lighting.
The setup was pretty
straightforward. We
had set up our Full
PA system and half
our lighting rig for
this event. Sound was
controlled by Philimon,
and lighting by
Chama.
