ocated in the courtyard at Foxdale Court, Nonna’s Pizzeria is a delightful Italian restaurant that speaks of hearty homemade Italian food. Run and owned by Franca Rocci, fondly known as Nonna (grandma) to those close to her and her children, this little piece of Italy serves pasta, lasagne and pizza that is made with fresh authentic Italian and local Zambian produce. Nonna’s Pizzeria also does catering for small events and Sunday brunch. Franca has vast experience in the restaurant industry, both in running restaurants and helping restaurants with their openings. Nonna’s Pizzeria happened by a happy coincidence. Franca, along with her daughter and grandson, went for ice cream and saw a vacant space. The rest, as they say is history. The pizzeria has a rustic feel with its checked tablecloths and Italian colours of red, white and green. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and mouthwatering aromas. Franca herself was there to welcome us and ensure that we were assisted. With a wide range of choice on the menu, along with her personal suggestions, we were quickly able to decide what we wanted. 117
