For those that haven’t, it is bound to happen soon ;) A small cold chisel and a ball peen hammer and infinite patience is required to work the tap out. There are a bunch of tricks on the removal of taps that will serve well. With the hammer and air method, you can blow in at an angle and tap around the part to create vibration; vibration is a very powerful and under-used force. Vibration with rusted objects, press fits, and seized pipe parts works wonders. The idea is just to tap it gently; just enough to widen the freshly cut threads a bit.
