Our most recent food adventure
took us to Filini restaurant, part
of global hotel company Radisson
Blu. Filini is at its core an Italian
restaurant, boasting housemade
breads, sophisticated plating and a
wonderful herb garden. The décor
is very clean-cut and presentable,
and is every bit the hotel look you
would expect from a global chain.
Staff are again, highly smart, clean
and presentable, and really did look
the part, as far as first impressions
go.
We were seated almost immediately
and offered a selection of drinks to
whet our appetite. Being on a hall
pass, we decided on two cocktails
and a pint. The first we sampled
was the humble –yet delicious
– pina colada. The luxuriously
blended pineapple, coconut (and
booze) concoction was silky and
delicious, a very successful homage
to a very popular drink. Our
second was a Sex on the Beach,
not my choice I hasten to add,
and as far as totally unimaginative
cocktails go, they pretty much
nailed this one as well. Showing the
exactness of service that one usually
expects at a good hotel.
