The day started with a Comic-Con panel on Thursday July 9 th where fans of the show could see, listen to and then ask the stars of the
show questions. The panel consisted of the Co-Creator/Executive Producer Hank Steinberg, Eric Dane (Chandler), Adam Baldwin
(Slattery), Rhona Mitra (Scott), Travis Van Winkle (Green), Marissa Neitling (Foster), and Jocko Sims (Burke). No less than 1000
people waited in line to see and listen to these stars.
Eric Dane plays the ship’s Captain Commander Thomas Chandler a career navy man, ex-Navy SEAL,
and a recent widower from the plague. He is well respected and even loved by his crew for his
compassion and great ability to lead. He is grappling with the loss of his wife and his children who
survived and are being cared for by his father, who was also a survivor. He is trying to balance the love
and commitment to his family but realizes that he is the only one who can lead his crew and hopefully
save the nation and the world. Eric Dane is well known in Hollywood for his roles in Grey’s Anatomy,
X-Men: The Last Stand, Marley and Me, plus a host of other movie and television roles.
Adam Baldwin plays the ships Executive Officer (XO) Commander Mike Slattery. He was a former
Chicago Homicide Detective who was called to active duty with the Navy Reserve. He is also revered
by his crew and respected by the captain for his advice and input in running the ship. Adam is well
known for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Ordinary People, X-Files, and Independence Day, plus many
popular television shows.
Rhona Mitra stars as Doctor Rachel Scott a British medical specialist in infectious diseases. Dr. Scott
was assigned to the USS Nathan James to investigate this strange disease affecting millions and help
create a cure. Rachel is known for roles on Boston Legal, The Practice, and Sweet Home Alabama to
name a few.
